FINALLY!

Today is finally the day. Election day. I keep getting teary-eyed because I'm so excited, yet so afraid that we won't win. But Obama must win. I am reading his book, "Dreams from my Father" and I am more convinced than ever that he is a decent, wonderful human being who is incredibly smart and caring and will lead our country forward with a steady hand. And to have a black president.... Oh, it fills me with pride just to think about it.

I teared up when I voted.

I don't think I will be going to bed early tonight. I must stay up and watch the returns!

I went out and distributed leaflets today, and when my partner (who was Latina) and I were talking about bringing in new voters, and all the people she'd registered to vote who'd never voted before.... It made me think that maybe we WILL have a country worth passing on to our kids. And Daniel learned to say "Si se puede" today. I'm staying up late too :)

We'll be staying up late tonight as well. I've never respected a candidate more as a person and I think that he will do us proud.
