Funky Thursday

I hate it when I wake up in a funk. I'm sure everyone has those days, when for some reason you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed and you feel blue. I seem to have them on Thursdays, I think it's related to the stay at home mom thing and maybe subconciously feeling cooped up or isolated? Although that doesn't really make sense right now because I'm going to rehearsal at night, I went out for lunch with a friend yesterday and today Anna and I are going to corner Blake together. So I'm actually getting quite a bit of socialization right now. Perhaps it's a missing of fast food. I found myself CRAVING fast food yesterday! I think there are scary chemicals in that stuff that causes you to be addicted. We haven't eaten fast food in about two weeks because we're trying to eat all meals at home to save money for the house. I'm sure it's much healthier, but yesterday I really could have gone for, of all disgusting things, a McDonald's cheeseburger. Eww!

I haven't really been craving it, but I eat a lot of junk at work. I did have some trouble running past the Church's last night...

It's amazing how when you want McDonald's, NOTHING ELSE WILL DO. I get like that too. Sometimes it sounds like the best thing in the world. But I go for months without wanting it. Especially since my child is of the age to beg for it.

I was trying to think of something to say to you, but I don’t have any good advice. I have my blue days too, but I tend to crash more at the end of the day. When my night is winding down and I think of waking up to face another day that’s identical to the one I just finished … that’s when I hit my lows.

Everything I do up until that moment feels like an attempt to stave off that feeling. I clean the house. I knit and watch tv. I play video games or play with Jeff and the cats. Still at the end of the day I have to get up, go to The Company, and then come home to kill time, go to sleep, and get up to do it all again. It’s a bit of a rut. (Hence the continued search for a new job.) We just have to muddle through I guess, and hope that the next day the sun shines a little brighter.

Speaking of bright sides, tomorrow is Friday. In my experience Fridays are almost always better than Thursdays, so let’s keep our fingers crossed. Have a good rehearsal tonight, and if you want a cheeseburger you should eat one. Nothing cures a craving for Mc D’s like eating one of their burgers.
